The EEU-EB1H1R0S series aluminum electrolytic capacitors have the following working principles. A non-solid electrolyte is contained inside the capacitor, and the electrolyte is a solution of an alkaline material and organic compound. The capacitor element is the electrolytic layer coated on the anode of the inner layer of the aluminum foil. In this structure, the electrolyte acts as a conductive medium between the two electrodes, and the capacitance of the capacitor is formed by the dielectric between the anode and the cathode.

The dielectric is an oxide film that is formed on the surface of the anode due to the reversible redox reaction between the anode and the electrolyte. The oxide layer acts as a dielectric barrier, preventing current from flowing between the two electrodes, while allowing the electric charges of the anode and the cathode to be separated and reformed after the application of an external electric field.

When the voltage across the capacitor increases, the electric field generated tends to thinner the oxide film, and when it decreases, the electri field tends to grow and break down the oxide film. This means that with a certain voltage, the capacitor can be discharged and charged multiple times. Such a cycle is called a dynamic cycle.
