Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are the most popular type of capacitor available today. They are widely used in dc and ac power supplies, battery-powered equipment, automotive electronics, and other electronic devices. They are also used in many consumer products, such as personal computers, cell phones, home audio systems, and electric appliances.

The typical aluminum electrolytic capacitor consists of an anode electrode, a separator, an electrolyte, and a cathode electrode. An electric current is passed through the system during manufacture, and this causes the formation of an oxide layer on the anode. The oxide layer acts as a dielectric and allows the capacitor to store an electric charge.

The capacitance of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is measured in Farads. This value is usually as large as possible while maintaining an acceptable size and a reasonable voltage range. Considerably higher capacitance can be achieved with large physical size, which is often impractical or cost-prohibitive. There are two main types of aluminum capacitors; tantalum and electrolytic.

Tantalum capacitors are more expensive than aluminum capacitors but offer higher capacitance, higher voltage ratings, and greater energy storage per volume. Tantalum capacitors are typically used in high-power applications such as electronic motors. Electrolytic capacitors are less expensive than tantalum capacitors, but offer lower capacitance, lower voltage ratings, and lower energy storage per volume. The main advantage of electrolytic capacitors is their ability to store a large amount of charge for a relatively small size.

EEU-FC1H560 Application Field and Working Principle

EEU-FC1H560 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor manufactured by the Nichicon Corporation, a global leader in capacitor technology. It is a very popular capacitor for use in industrial and commercial applications. It offers excellent performance characteristics and is widely used in motor control, switching power supplies, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), high-end automotive electrical systems, and other industrial control applications.

The EEU-FC1H560 is available in a range of different capacitance and voltage ratings, from 10µF to 220µF with a voltage rating of up to 63V. It has a maximum operating temperature of 105°C, which is relatively high compared to other capacitors. The capacitor is also protected from electrostatic discharge with a shield or other protective measures.

The EEU-FC1H560 uses an aluminum foil anode and a tantalum cathode, which are separated by an electrolyte. The anode is formed into a cylindrical shape, while the tantalum cathode is formed into a flat shape. During operation, the aluminum anode is charged by an electric current and the electrolyte stores energy, enabling the capacitor to store charge. This mechanism allows the capacitor to provide an effective AC or DC filtering service.

The EEU-FC1H560 is also internally protected by an overvoltage surge absorber, which prevents the capacitor from receiving too much voltage and damaging the component as a result. This protection helps to ensure reliability and enhance the lifespan of the capacitor.

The EEU-FC1H560 is a versatile and reliable capacitor that is ideal for use in various industrial and commercial applications. It is an excellent choice for use in applications that require good capacitance, high voltage ratings, and high temperature operation. It is also designed for long-term reliability and offers excellent value for money.
