Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, including the EEU-FC1J330H model, are commonly used in power supply and filtering applications, due to their ability to hold a large amount of energy. These components are composed of two aluminum plates, separated by a dielectric material consisting of an oxide film. One plate is called the anode and the other plate is known as the cathode. The aluminum plates are electrochemically etched to create a mesh surface, increasing surface area. After that, the aluminum electrolyte is sprayed over the plates, forming a dielectric layer.The EEU-FC1J330H model is a radial aluminum electrolytic capacitor in miniaturized C-Series, designed to support severe vibration and solder thermal shock. Due to the polar nature of aluminum electrolytic capacitors, it is important to observe its marked polarity, as a wrong connection will damage the capacitor. With up to 2.2 µF of capacitance and 400V rated voltage, the EEU-FC1J330H presents low ESR and long life operation of up to 3,000 hours at maximum voltage when working within its operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C.The working principle of the EEU-FC1J330H aluminum electrolytic capacitor is related to its electrical and structural architecture. When a potential difference is applied across its terminals, charging current flows through the device and electrons are stored in the oxide layers of the anode. Due to the thinness of the oxide layers, the electric field is strong enough to cause electrons to be emitted from the oxide and accumulate on the interface between the oxide layer and the electrolyte. The oxide layer forms a stable electric double layer between aluminum and electrolyte, making it easier for Faradic reactions to occur. As a result, the charge stored in the anode increases, while the capacitor is polarized. The energy stored is a function of the magnitude of the potential difference and of the capacitance, which is proportional to the area of the plates and inversely proportional to the distance between them.The EEU-FC1J330H aluminum electrolytic capacitor is highly suitable for applications in power supplies and filtering, due to its high capacitance and low impedance. It is also used in audio and video equipment, for decoupling in circuits, as well as in circuits for pulse detection. Thanks to its short size, small hole size and low height, it can be effectively implemented in mobile equipment, making it a highly advantageous component for modern electronic designs.
