Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, also known as aluminum can capacitors, are the most commonly used type of electrolytic capacitor. They are constructed by stacking two sheets of metalized aluminum foil with an electrolytic paper separator between them, and then rolling it up into a cylindrical shape. They are often used as a filtering device to smooth out the voltage in power supplies, as a decoupling element for noise reduction, and as a timing capacitor for oscillator circuits. The EEU-FR1A221 is a type of aluminum electrolytic capacitor.

The EEU-FR1A221 is a radial type aluminum electrolytic capacitor, constructed using a long wound roll of aluminum foil or an alumina foil strip. This type of capacitor is characterized by having an extended working voltage, long-term endurance, and high frequency characteristics. Its capacitance range can be between 1uF and 33uF and the rated working voltage is up to 25V.

As an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, the EEU-FR1A221 has outstanding operating temperature characteristics and dielectric loss characteristics. It is widely used in fields such as DC power supplies, audio equipment, televisions, receivers, and computer monitors. When used in circuits, it is highly effective in noise reduction, melding current smoothing, enlarging supply Capability, and preventing “peak” currents.

The working principle of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is based on the electrochemical reaction between two aluminum foil electrodes and an electrolyte. The two aluminum electrodes are treated to create a layer of oxide film on both surfaces, which acts as an insulator. This oxide layer prevents the electric current from passing through the capacitor, allowing the capacitor to hold a charge until the voltage between the two electrodes is equal. When an electric current is applied, electrons leave one electrode and enter the other, charging the capacitor.

The EEU-FR1A221 is designed to provide superior transient noise suppression, superior ripple current capacity and long life. It is not self healing and must be replaced or recycled if damaged or overloaded. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are used in power electronics and DC power supplies, noise reduction and timing circuits in audio, video, and communications equipment.
