Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are an important type of capacitor, essential in modern day electronic designs. EEU-TA1A471B capacitors are one such type of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. They are a miniature type of aluminum electrolytic capacitors, comparable in size to the surface mount (SMT) components. Like many electrolytic capacitors, they are polarized and are generally non-sparking and non-ignitable.
The application field of the EEU-TA1A471B capacitors ranges from small electronic circuits, portable audio and video equipment, digital cameras, electronic toys, computers, and many other general purpose electrical and electronic equipment. It also finds application in audio, video and digital equipment which requires high-capacitance, high-voltage, and low-resistance features and characteristics.
The working principle of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is maintained by the electric double layer formed on the electrode surfaces of the capacitor. This electric double layer consists of an electrolyte film and self-formed electrodes. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are constructed of a dielectric film of the electrolyte in contact with the two foils (anode and cathode). The anode foil is the aluminum electrolytic plate, etched into a substrate of metal oxide and then impregnated with an electrolyte-based solution. This anode plates have a higher electrostatic capacitance than plain aluminum due to the presence of these dielectric materials. The anode and cathode foils are separated by a thin layer of paper that functions as a separator and an insulator.
The plate surface of the anode foil is coated with an oxide layer. This oxide layer is vital in order to prevent direct contact between the electrolyte and the anode. When an electric charge is applied, the anode surface will form an electric double-layer, with one layer being the electrons of the anode and the other layer being the positive ions of the electrolyte. This creates a capacitance between the two electrodes. This electric field is formed by the electric double-layer and its capacitance is determined by the amount of electrons and ions, as well as the distance between the electrodes.
The electrolyte is also an important part of the operating principle of the EEU-TA1A471B aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The electrolyte can be either in liquid or solid state. They provide a medium in which ions can move from the anode to the cathode without direct contact, thus allowing the capacitor to store electrical charge. This electrical charge is responsible for the capacitance effect.
The EEU-TA1A471B aluminum electrolytic capacitors feature high capacitance values and high ripple current rating. These capacitors are suited for high frequency and low impedance applications. As well, their leads are designed to reduce the lead inductance. When subjected to a steady electric voltage, the capacitance value of the capacitor will reach its maximum value. This makes the EEU-TA1A471B aluminum electrolytic capacitors an ideal choice for applications that require a secure hold of electric charge.
