RF Evaluation and Development Kits, Boards are commonly used to set great success in the field of RF-related design applications. The EK43205-02 is an innovative platform that can be used for evaluating and developing RF system projects.
The EK43205-02 kit comprises of the EZ5205-02 development board or platform and the EZ5205-02 companion kit. The platform contains a Celox 5205 processor, which is a highly efficient 32-bit controller that is supported by the MSP430™ low power processing solutions. The companion kit consists of two boards, namely the EM25205-02 board and the EZ5110-02 board.
The EM25205-02 board is the main development board with a 512KB flash memory. This board is designed for 4-layer PCB implementation for high performance RF transceivers. With its built-in microcontroller-based architecture, users can create system-on-chip (SOC) solutions throughout their RF product development cycle. The EZ5110-02 board provides the general antenna port to support a maximum external RF antenna.
In terms of applications, the EK43205-02 can be used for different purposes, such as cellular base station design, RF remote control receiver design, wireless house monitoring, wireless vehicle tracking, vehicle access control, and other applications demanding high-performance RF signal detection.
In addition to the platform, the EK43205-02 also comes with a unique development software, which is CELOX-U Flash Programming Software, enabling users to create varieties of customized functions for basic RF transceivers. Also, the companion kit has an optional ADC expansion board, which can be used for more analog-based data acquisition. With the combination of EK43205-02 and the ADC board, users can easily implement a wireless signal transceiver.
In terms of the system\'s working principle, the EK 43205-02 is based on a single ASIC design chip, which is the highly integrated Celox 5205 processor. This chip is embedded with a 256-bit EEPROM memory, which stores the System Firmware and Application Firmware of the unit. A unique, internal oscillator enables the flexibility of adjusting the operating frequency used for both the transmitting and receiving devices. Also, the signals generated on the platform are modulated with a Temporal Frequency Shift Key (TFSK) modulation technique.
The actual physical part of the platform consists of the EZ5205-02 development board, the companion kit, and the optional ADC expansion board. The platform allows the user to connect a receiver unit, a transmitter unit, and an antenna unit to the board. The receiver and the transmitter are respectively driven by the EM25205-02 board and the EZ5110-02 board. The ADC expansion board is used to receive the signals from the antennas and also to convert the received signals into digital data. The converted data is then analyzed by the Celox 5205processor and the results are displayed on the LCD panel on the EM25205-02 board. The platform also provides the ability to customize the system’s configuration using the CELOX-U Flash programming software.
