EL100D5-24 is one of the SSR series with 25A both AC and DC load current and 250VAC/30VDC control voltage. The mounting type has two types: Panel Mounting and PCB Mounting. This SSR is suitable for low level signal switching and it is widely used in industrial automation control systems such as controlling machine tools, heating equipments, air-conditioning systems, electric heater, lighting control, etc.

Working Principle of EL100D5-24

EL100D5-24 is an optoelectronic solid state relay with LED input and solid state output. The internal circuit mainly consists of LED, Opto-coupler, thyristor, reverse diode, resistors, capacitors, etc. When the controller sends a signal to trigger the LED, due to the use of photoelectric effect, optocoupler separates the control circuit from the load circuit and LED module acts as a transmitter of light signal. In order to prevent the output thyristor from being damaged by the surge when starting, reverse diode and resistor are further added in the output circuit, which also helps to ensure that the thyristor is turned off in time.

When the LED receive the trigger signal, the thyristor is closed and the current from LED module is output to the load circuit which forms the closed loop and the load will be powered on to work. When the control circuit sends the “off” signal, the reverse diode is connected in parallel to the thyristor, which further helps to discharge the capacitor and thus thyristor is turned off due to reverse bias.
