The EL5455ISZ is a high performance dual, low power CMOS Voltage Feedback Amplifiers designed specifically for instrumentation applications such as voltage follower, constant current source, as well as for use in isolation, protection, isolation and interface applications. The EL5455ISZ is designed on Texas Instrument’s proprietary ProEFM CMOS process, which provides very low power, low voltage, and high output signal quality.

Working Principle
The EL5455ISZ is a self-contained, low-power, low-voltage CMOS Voltage Feedback Amplifier. The amplifier features an adjustable gain up to 9 dB, enabling the customer to adjust the gain as needed. The EL5455ISZ also provides high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) enabling it to reject unwanted noise in the signal path. Additionally, the amplifier has a very low distortion, making it ideal for audio applications. In addition, the device uses a low quiescent current, making it ideal for low power operations.
The device is composed of the two amplifier stages, one operating as an input buffer and voltage amplifier, and the other as an output buffer with voltage follower configuration. The input buffer configuration provides more stability under DC conditions. The output buffer configuration provides a more linear response across a wide frequency range, with very low distortion and excellent noise rejection. The input buffer is able to accept maximum input of 400 mV with a range from 0V to 30V (operating voltage), while the output buffer is sued to provide output up to 32V.
The two buffers are configured in an “isolation” architecture, where the output of one buffer is used as an input to the other, thus providing isolation between the two stages. This isolation, together with the high CMRR of the device, allows it to be used in applications where isolation and protection are required. The isolation also helps to reduce the effects of power supply noise on the signal path, increasing the system’s performance. The EL5455ISZ is also highly stable at DC conditions, exhibiting less than 0.001% overshoot at 20Hz and 0.001% phase shift at 10kHz.
The EL5455ISZ is suitable for a variety of instrumentation, isolation and protection applications. It is especially well-suited for low power and high precision applications such as voltage followers, constant current sources, and voltage sources. Furthermore, very low quiescent current makes this device an excellent choice for battery powered applications.
