EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and RFI (Radio-frequency Interference) are two closely related entities that come into play in electrical engineering or radio communication. The EMI and RFI filters are devices used to reduce the amount of EMI/RFI interfering with a system. The two types of filters are LC and RC Networks. An EMI222T-RC is an EMI/RFI filter designed for EMI and RFI filtering applications.

The design of the EMI222T-RC filter features two series capacitors which serve to start the filter to vibrate at its frequency cut-off, as opposed to one capacitor used in the LC filter.
