EPCTL2.5U/O Application Field and Working Principle

The EPCTL2.5U/O series temperature controller is an advanced programmable digital temperature controller designed for accurate and reliable control of process temperature and pressure. With the benefits of being robustly constructed, easy to install, program and operate, the EPCTL2.5U/O is well suited for use in a variety of industrial environments and applications.

The EPCTL2.5U/O is a high performance, single loop, digital temperature controller featuring a large, easy-to-read LCD display showing the setpoint, current process temperature, process limit, and alarm status. The controller has built-in remote sensor capability and is able to control the process temperature in both heating and cooling applications. It is equipped with a backlit LCD display and three control output relays for low voltage switching and control.

Application Field

The EPCTL2.5U/O controller can be used to control temperature and/or pressure in a variety of industrial applications. Some common applications include controlling the temperature of non-flammable chemicals, controlling the pressure in air compressors and pumps, and controlling the temperature of food processing and beverage production. The EPCTL2.5U/O can also be used in HVAC systems, combustion systems, and for controlling the temperature of engines.

The EPCTL2.5U/O controller is also suitable for controlling a wide range of temperatures ranging from -20°C to +120°C, making it ideal for applications requiring accurate temperature control. It can also control temperatures in the presence of direct sunlight or high heat radiation due to its high accuracy and precision.

Working Principle

The EPCTL2.5U/O temperature controller is based on a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) algorithm. This algorithm allows the controller to accurately measure and adjust the parameters needed to maintain the desired set point temperature. The PID parameters are adjusted by the user and the controller will continuously monitor the set point temperature and adjust the output accordingly.

The controller works by first measuring the temperature of the process and then comparing it to the set point temperature. If the process temperature is lower than the set point temperature, the controller will increase the output in order to maintain the set point temperature. Conversely, if the process temperature is higher than the set point temperature, the controller will reduce the output in order to maintain the set point temperature.

The controller is also equipped with an on-board digital potentiometer control that can be used to adjust the output signal as desired. This feature allows the controller to provide accurate and reliable temperature control even in the presence of varying environmental conditions.

The EPCTL2.5U/O series also features a range of advanced features such as intelligent auto-tuning, alarm indication, and low voltage switching. This ensures that the controller can be used with a wide range of process temperature and pressure control applications.
