ESD8351MUT5G, as a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors) diode, is widely used in various applications to protect sensitive electronics from electrical overstress such as electrostatic discharges(ESD). It is a double-line-to-ground (DL2G) diode with 5V breakdown voltage and 30A peak pulse power. This diode can be applied in three areas, namely, ESD, switchingtransients and RC pulse suppressor.In ESD applications, ESD8351MUT5G protects circuits from direct current (DC) or peak-limited current, usually up to 30A. When exposed to an overvoltage or ESD, the diode becomes biased, resulting in conduction and a zero voltage clamping. This shortens the time of the ESD and reduces its energy dissipation. When voltage returns to normal, the diode restores its unbiased state.When it is used in switching transients, ESD8351MUT5G handles transients up to 30A, such as those generated by ignition systems and high-speed signal line protection. It can be easily incorporated into the design of switching power supplies or switching amplifiers. When exposed to an overvoltage, the diode becomes biased and diverts current away from the protected device, thus decreasing the transient voltage on the power supply.Finally, the diode can be used in RC pulse suppressor applications. ESD8351MUT5G can be applied to protect multiple circuits from overvoltages, such as those caused by ringing circuits. It provides a highly optimized combination of voltage and current ratings, which make it an ideal device to protect against high-frequency overvoltages. When exposed to an overvoltage, the diode becomes biased and conducts current away from the protected circuit, thus reducing the voltage to a safe level.ESD8351MUT5G is an important component in TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors) applications.
