IntroductionEVAL-418-HHLR is a powerful evaluation and development board, designed for a wide range of RF applications and also for developing and testing high-quality RF related products. Inherent to this design is the cutting-edge hardware and software technologies necessary to facilitate a comprehensive RF evaluation and development. This makes it an ideal tool for any RF engineer or hobbyist who is looking to understand, develop and evaluate RF systems.Application FieldThe EVAL-418-HHLR was designed to simplify the development and testing of different RF systems. It can be used in many applications such as Wireless Communication, Software Defined Radio (SDR), Network Security, Sensor Networking, Security and Signaling, and Antenna Measurement.As it operates in the HF-UHF and Microwave frequency ranges (400 to 4,000 MHz), it can be used in applications such as short-range radar, base-station-to-mobile radios, cell-tower-to-mobile radios, Wi-Fi, CB, satellite communications, and many others. It can also be used for testing antennas, antennas propagation, wireless broadcasting, spectrum monitoring, spectrum management, advanced signal processing, etc.The EVAL-418-HHLR includes an integrated 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi, with two independent radio transceivers and up to four simultaneous spatial streams.Working PrincipleThe EVAL-418-HHLR combines an integrated Intel Atom Microprocessor with an Atom EPT Dual-Core 1.8 GHz processor, a 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM, and an Intel HD Graphics processor, in order to provide a powerful and versatile development system. Its high performance and featuring eight front-end channels allow for efficient hardware and software development of high quality, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) RF systems.The EVAL-418-HHLR board has a connectivity and expansion interface, two USB 2.0 ports, and an integrated FPGA to provide a unique combination of hardware and software technologies. This combination of features allows the EVAL-418-HHLR board to offer the capabilities of a full development system.The EVAL-418-HHLR board also includes two components which enable the development, testing, and integration of high quality MIMO RF systems. The first is an integrated Wi-Fi 2.4GHz transceiver, featuring dual-band, dual-channel, and three antennas, allowing for a versatile communication system. The second is an integrated FPGA, which provides the flexibility of a fully programmable hardware system. The FPGA also offers a wide range of customization features, such as programmable Coarse/Fine Delay Blocks (CFDs), turbo coding, dynamic channel allocation, and variable rate modulation.In addition, the EVAL-418-HHLR board also comes with a range of software and integrated development environments (IDEs) and tools for developing and testing RF systems.
