The ADUC7029QSZ evaluation board is the newest addition to the Analog Devices’ extensive portfolio of embedded processing solutions. The board is designed to support the development of system-level applications involving industrial control systems, instrumentation, or consumer-oriented embedded designs. It is well suited for applications where a combination of low-cost, high-resolution digital-to-analogue conversion and low-power MCU operation are desired. Since the board provides low-cost development solutions for applications in these fields, it is a popular choice among experienced embedded engineers.
The ADUC7029QSZ evaluation board features a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor, which offers a wide range of code-based system solutions. A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) block provides a range of basic digital signal processing capabilities including FIR and IIR filtering, FFT processing and advanced audio-processing features. Also included is a range of peripherals suitable for embedded systems such as SPI, I2C, UART, 8-bit GPIO and two 10-bit ADC converters.
In order to provide users with an easy-to-use interface, the ADUC7029QSZ evaluation board includes an on-board graphical user interface (GUI) containing several touchscreen sliders and buttons. As well as controlling the functions of the board, the on-board GUI also allows for the development of interactive graphical displays to show real-time data. Other on-board features include temperature and voltage sensors, an RS-232 port for connection to external devices such as PC’s, and a USB port for software updates and data transfer.
