The EVAL-433-HHCP Evaluation Kit is a comprehensive development board designed to evaluate the performance of Philips\' high-data-rate RF transceiver transmitters and the architecture of the high-data-rate home control system. The kit allows easy implementation of the transceivers, verifying the performance of high-data-rate transmissions at 433MHz frequencies. The EVAL-433-HHCP Evaluation Kit also provides a platform for users to write their own applications.
The EVAL-433-HHCP Evaluation Kit can be used in various application fields, such as radio data networks, home security systems, home automation, and industrial control. The kit is especially useful for evaluating the healthcare systems and tools being developed in the scope of the new radio regulations. The kit’s high data rate and robustness of the RF signals provide ideal conditions for testing new communications protocols designed for medical applications. It also assists in evaluating RF link robustness for very reliable communication between the medical tools and the healthcare center.
The EVAL-433-HHCP Evaluation Kit provides a high degree of flexibility to its users. It is built on top of a three-in-one PHY/MAC module, compatible with an open source hardware reference platform, and an analog front-end (AFE). The modular design of the kit enables the addition of customized features. It is compliant with the ETSI EN300 205 standard and the PRF ETSI EN300220 standard for RF applications.
The RF evaluation development kit features an in-built radio front-end transceiver and protocol stack. This allows the user to transmit data at up to 500 kbps through the 433-MHz RF platform on the evaluation board. The user can also send data in the opposite direction, using the same board, for a total of approximately 1000 kbps. The board is also capable of receiving data up to 40 Mbps. The integrated Kalimbaler protocol stack supports both Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) with data rates from 0.01 kbps to 500 kbps. The user can select the spreading factor and the modulation to achieve the desired throughput. The modulation techniques at 2, 4, 7, and 32 spreading factor are supported, with data rates of 0.01 to 176.9 kbps (FHSS) and 18.2 to 1.97 Mbps (DSSS).
The EVAL-433-HHCP Evaluation Kit comes with a wide array of development tools for users to take full advantage of its features. An advanced graphical user interface along with a comprehensive library of communications functions are included in the development kit, simplifying the development process. The user can create their own software for the development board, as well as modify existing software and applications. The user is also able to modify hardware, including the AFE and the three-in-one PHY/MAC module.
