It features a 70µs conversion time and a selectable-gain-inverter for the input signal. The ADC is based on a charge redistribution (CR) architecture and performs analog to digital conversion by sequentially comparing the input voltage to an increasing voltage ramp. The comparison search is performed by sequentially selecting a corresponding number of bits from the output of the previous acquisition.

The EVAL-AD7194EBZ board supports four input ranges: ±3V, ±1.5V, ±0.75V, and ±0.375V. It also supports a wide range of input and reference resistors, allowing for the optimum SNR performance for the desired application. An adjustable 5V reference voltage can be provided via an external source or an on-board 2.5V reference can be used. An on-board analog-to-digital converter provides a temperature-sensing accuracy of ± 2°C. Finally, the package includes a two-wire operating-mode toggle switch, which allows user-selectable operation in either single-conversion or continuous-conversion mode.
