Working Principle
The EVAL-ADUM3471EBZ board uses a Quad Channel Digital Isolator to provide magnetic-field isolation, thereby helping to ensure precision analog to digital communication over a wide voltage range. The board is based on four ADuM3471 devices, which are used to provide isolation between the high-speed logic buses (e.g., I2C/SPI/UART) and a system that has high-speed I/O requirements. Each device isolates one logic lane from the other, which makes it suitable for communication over a wide variety of higher-level protocols. The board also contains on-board filters, which are used to reduce noise. The board is also capable of driving low-voltage logic.
The board also contains four inductors for coupling between the isolated lanes, which reduce the crosstalk between the channels while providing the required electromagnetic isolation.
