The EVAL-ADXL375Z-S is an evaluation board which has been designed to evaluate the performance of the 3-axis ADXL375 Digital Accelerometer. The board comprises of ADXL375 accelerometer, 3.3V analog supply voltage regulator, 16-bit Lo-Power Parallel Interface ADCs and other external components. Its purpose is to allow users to easily test out and evaluate the performance of the ADXL375 and make necessary circuit and algorithm optimizations. This evaluation board is ideal for motor control applications like vibration monitoring, navigation displays, vehicle infotainment systems, and human interface devices.

Working Principle

The EVAL-ADXL375Z-S makes use of the ADXL375 accelerometer to measure the acceleration of movement in 3 directions, i.e, X, Y and Z. The outputs of 3 channels of ADXL375 are then combined to form a 2-dimensional vector, which can be used to measure acceleration in any direction. The board features a 3.3V analog supply voltage regulator to protect against short circuits and other damage that may occur from excessive power supply current. The ADC featured on the board utilizes a 16-bit low power parallel interface which can be used to optimize the power consumption of the board while still maintaining a high level of accuracy.

The board also features an innovative “Tilt Compensation” feature, which compensates for errors due to the tilt of the board when measuring acceleration. This ensures that the readings are accurate even when the board is inclined at an angle.
