Eval-CN0396-ARDZ boards are part of the larger category of Evaluation Boards - Expansion Boards, Daughter Cards. The term “daughter card” refers to any circuit board or component that is mounted to a larger one and either adds additional functionality or allows the use of less expensive components. The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board is a low cost derivative of the hugely popular ADI’s ADF7030-N DataLink transceiver.
Eval-CN0396-ARDZ was developed to provide an entry-level evaluation platform and enable rapid prototyping of systems utilizing the ADF7030-N transceiver. This Evaluation Board includes several components to assist in the development of data-intensive projects using the AD7030-N transceiver. This includes a 9-pin coil connection socket, four antenna connectors, a reset button, BBRAM (Battery-Backed RAM), a power jack, a mini USB port, and several general-purpose I/O ports for connection to external sensors or devices. All of these components work together to ensure that the Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board meets the needs of its users.
The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board incorporates a low-cost, low-power ADF7030-N DataLink transceiver. The ADF7030-N operates in the ISM band (868/900 MHz) and provides a complete system solution for robust wireless data communications. The integrated circuitry supports both omni and directional communications. The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board provides a wide range of features and functions such as frequency selection, hopping and modulation that enable users to quickly develop a wide range of wireless systems.
The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board also includes on-board components that are designed to facilitate the transmission and reception of data over the ISM band. This includes multi-channel, programmable RF synthesizer, IF sub-systems with digital interfaces, receivers, mixers and filters. It also provides a comprehensive set of digital signal processing functions to help reduce noise and improve signal reception. The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ board also features a wide dynamic range Receiver Gain and Tone Management feature to provide more precise control over the Receive and transmit power.
The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board has the ability to communicate with a wide range of devices, such as sensors, remote controls, and consumer electronics. It can be used in a wide variety of applications, including wireless security alarms, home automation, industrial control, satellite television and radio, and other wireless local area networks.
The Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board is not only an excellent choice for prototyping, but also for production purposes. It can be used to manufacture a number of low-cost RF devices, including tags, remote-controls, and other wireless protocol-compliant devices. Users can also use the Eval-CN0396-ARDZ Evaluation Board to develop their own custom RF protocols.
