The EVAL01-HMC935LP5E is a board-level evaluation kit that provides an ideal platform for the evaluation of the HMC935LP5E high performance wideband receiver IC. It is designed to be used in a wireless network development environment to facilitate quick system prototyping. The EVAL01-HMC935LP5E includes the HMC935LP5E IC along with a wide range of components for evaluating its performance. The user has full control over the evaluation board settings through the standard control interface.

The EVAL01-HMC935LP5E evaluation board comes loaded with features to meet the demands of high performance LTE applications. It consists of two RF sections: RF Input and RF Output, and a selection of two IF outputs, for the evaluation of various components such as MIMO antennas, antenna arrays, different receiver and transceiver architectures, and multiple signal inputs and outputs. In addition, it supports a wide variety of digital interfaces, including USB, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, JTAG, and SPI. The user has full control of the board setup and parameters via the Easy-to-Use Windows GUI.

The EVAL01-HMC935LP5E also features the HMC935LP5E IC – an ultra-low latency receiver IC with low phase inconsistencies between multiple antennas. The chip is designed to support the latest LTE standard of mobile communication, as well as the upcoming 5G standard. It provides a total bandwidth of up to 500MHz, and has a center frequency range from 2400MHz to 2700MHz. The chip supports two separate receive channels per input, which allows for the evaluation of multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems, and digital gain selection to give flexibility in the system design.

The working principle of the EVAL01-HMC935LP5E is simple. It is designed to receive signals over the specified bandwidth and convert them into analog outputs. The board contains various circuit components which perform the necessary functions such as filtering, amplifying, and multiplexing of the received signals.
