Tantalum capacitor is an electrolytic capacitor, which is made of tantalum as an anode material. It’s one of the common capacitors and has the advantages of small size, large capacity, and good electrical properties, which makes it widely used in Frequency conversion power supplies, Telecommunications, Aerospace and medical equipment applications.

F980J476MMA is a type of tantalum capacitor. Its application field includes small and medium power AC/DC power conversion, energy storage, monitoring devices, power systems, etc. Its working principle is similar to other tantalum capacitors, which is that the tantalum salt film is formed on the anode electrode to become an electrolyte, and the electrolyte is used as the dielectric. Under the action of external electric field, the capacitance of the tantalum capacitor is formed.

When the capacitor is connected in the circuit, depending on the DC voltage applied to the capacitor, a layer of dielectric oxide film is formed on the surface of the anode. As its underlying resonance characteristics, the tantalum capacitor is applied in the AC/DC power supply system. Here, the difference between AC signals and DC signals is that the AC signal has two or more composite frequency components, and each component has a different amplitude.

In addition to the difference in amplitude, the phase of each component is also different. Under the action of alternating current, the electrolyte of the capacitor experiences expansion and contraction. When the amplitude and phase of each component are unequal, the electrolyte of the capacitor will generate electrocutaneous force. With the decrease of the frequency, the capacity of the capacitor will increase and electrification, so the capacitance will arise.

The use of tantalum capacitors in the AC/DC power system can make the system more stable and reliable, thereby improving the performance of the system. In addition, tantalum capacitors can also be used to store energy. By storing electric energy, it can reduce the electric load of the system and reduce the failure rate caused by the instant power failure.
