Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs) can be used to control and manage power distribution across a wide range of electronic devices, from personal computers to devices designed for industrial or automotive applications. The FAN3181TMX is a high-voltage, low-power, high-current Gate Driver thatis capable of offering a high PWM frequency with low RDSon. The FAN3181TMX also provides high frequency switching with an external capacitor, an adjustable slew rate and variable fall time depending on the application’s needs. The FAN3181TMX circuit is comprised of three stages. The first stageis composed of two NMOS transistors with their gates connected together, a P-channel MOSFET, and a pull-up resistor. This stage can be used to precharge the device before enablement, to prevent cross conduction. The second stage consists of two NMOS transistors, each with a different gate. One transistor is connected in series with the first stage, and the other is connected in parallel to form the high-side driver. This stage is responsible for providing high-side control of the outputs. The third stage consists of two NMOS transistors, and their gates are connected in parallel with the second stage. This stage will provide low-side control of the outputs.
The FAN3181TMX can easily be integrated into other circuits, and its low power consumption makes it an ideal solution for low voltage applications. Additionally, it features a 4-pin integrated Boot Voltage Re- distributer that is responsible for ensuring that the output voltages are evenly distributed across the four pins. This device is also equipped with fault protection features, a unique temperature-compensated current driver, and an adjustable slew rate to minimize power consumption in applications with high peak currents.
