The FAN3217TMX is a high-efficiency, low-quiescent current buck-boost DC/DC converter from Fairchild Semiconductor. It is a PMIC - Gate Driver package that integrates four channels of high-side and low-side power switches, an adjustable output step-down DC/DC converter and a low-input current linear regulator. The FAN3217TMX is designed for cost-sensitive, battery-powered products with multiple voltage rails and applications such as portable electronics, digital cameras and audio devices.

The FAN3217TMX delivers high efficiency and low quiescent current (Iq) in a compact, 6 mm × 6 mm, 36-pin package. It features a rich range of protections, including over-current, over-voltage and short-circuit protection, as well as thermal shutdown. Its output voltage can be adjusted over the range of 0.5 V to 5.5 V with an external reference voltage. The FAN3217TMX supports up to 3 A of continuous current and can handle up to 20 A of peak current.
