Terminal blocks, as a kind of electrical connecting device, are widely used in many applications. The range of applications are usually limited by various required functions, such as safety, data transmission, current, power, resistance, etc. Among them, barrier blocks, such as GFTX-26, are becoming increasingly popular due to their superior performance.

The GFTX-26 barrier block is a two-pole front entry terminal block equipped with three (3) terminals and integrated strain relief to accommodate various wiring configurations. Designed for use with 16 and 32 AWG solid copper wires, the ease of assembly of this product allows for quick installation and maintenance. It is also designed to meet UL 94V-0 requirements for flammability, making it suitable for many different applications. Its nylon locknut helps to secure the device during installation, and it has two M2.6 mounting hole PCD.

The working principle of barrier blocks is based on the separation of live components and isolated components. The first step is to thread the insulation sleeve into the live and isolated terminals. The process of connecting the live and isolated terminals is done by either pushing the insulation sleeve or introducing a hole in the plastic. After the introduction of the insulation sleeve, the introduction of the contact components is then done. The contact components are then placed inbetween the two separated terminal levels, the insulated terminal and the live terminal. The contact components are then connected via the electrical terminals. The electrical connection is then secured by a locking nut and thus provides the required connection.

For even more safety, GFTX-26 barrier blocks are designed to limit access to the live terminals and prevent accidental contact with them. This can be achieved by using an electrical interlock that locks the live terminals when not in use. This requires the installation of a suitable housing which engages with the mechanical interlock feature. The installation of the GFTX-26 barrier block is also relatively straight-forward. It can be simply mounted on any 35 mm DIN rail and can easily be replaced if necessary. This makes it beneficial for applications in machinery and equipment such as machine tools, assembly line machines, and industrial robots.

The GFTX-26 barrier block is a simple but highly reliable two-pole barrier block system that can be used in a wide range of applications. Due to its small form factor, it is often used in applications where protection between the different terminals is vital. Its ability to withstand a certain amount of heat and pressure also makes it suitable for applications in harsh environments. It is also very user-friendly and is relatively straightforward to install and maintain, requiring little to no specialist equipment.
