DC DC Converters

Working Principle

The GP2540-9R works on a buck-boost-flyback based control. In this type of control, the input voltage is compared against a preset level and the output voltage is adjusted according to the difference between the input voltage and the preset level.The GP2540-9R uses a capacitive double-ended forward-flyback converter to generate the regulated voltage. A double-ended flyback converter is a switched mode power supply that is commonly used for regulating a high voltage output at comparable currents and voltages. The buck-boost-flyback based control will switch between buck and flyback mode depending on the input voltage variation.The primary components of the GP2540-9R are the controller IC, the primary side transformers, the secondary side transformers, the rectifier bridge, and the capacitors.
