Working Principle

The H11AV1SVM consists of an infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a PNP transistor detector circuit (TCD). The forward incident current is determined by the voltage applied across the device pins.

When the incident current exceeds the reverse breakdown voltage of the internal diode, it is limited by a built-in voltage limiting circuit.
