They can transmit digital signals, analog signals, and voltage levels, without having direct contact or electrical/mechanical connection between the electronic circuits. By transmitting signals between two circuits without contact between them, they can provide both electric isolation between two circuits and input/output conversion. H11F1S Application Field

H11F1S Working Principle

When an external current passes through the LED, light is emitted and the photodiode functions as a photo-conductive element, generating electrical signals. This is known as the photovoltaic effect. The optical/photocoupler interface semiconductor layer amplifies the current output from the LED, modulates the LED current with the input signal, and transmits these signals to the output side.
