When the output voltage is below the reference, the regulator sends a PWM signal to the external MOSFET to reduce the output voltage and ration the load current. When the output voltage is exceeded, the regulator sends a PWM signal to the external MOSFET to increase the output voltage and ration the load current.
The HIP6004ECVZ also offers advanced features like wide input and output voltage selection, rigid protection, reset and fault indicator options, integrated load protection circuitry and automatic current limiting for improved reliability and safety.
