The impedance of the RF input port, the action of the termination circuitry, and the gain of the input buffer are all designed to match the input requirements of the mixer. The mixer is composed of an active, two-port mixer constructed on a GaAs process. The output buffer follows the mixer and is responsible for providing a low impedance output. Finally, a power supply provides the appropriate power to the other active components in the mixer.The primary application field of the HMC665LP4ETR is in telecommunication systems where signal conversion is required.
