HMC618ALP3ETR RF/IF and RFID

The HMC618ALP3ETR is a family of RF amplifiers from Analog Devices, Inc. It is a low noise, low power RF amplifier with fully differential input and output stages. It is designed for applications in the base station and infrastructure markets. The HMC618ALP3ETR is packaged in a 9 x 9mm, 40-lead LLP and is temperature maintained for -40°C to +125°C extended temperature range operation.

Applications

Working Principle

The HMC618ALP3ETR is a differential amplifier, which amplifies two signals applied to its inputs and outputs their summed signal at its output. Each signal input is combined with its own local oscillator (LO) signal. These signals are then mixed together by an internal mixer, whose output is amplified and then output after filtering. The LO and the signal amplifier are both a part of a differential amplifier, so the gain of the amplifier is determined by the difference between the offset of the LO and the signal input.

The HMC618ALP3ETR also utilizes on/off isolation switches to turn the amplifier on and off when required. This helps to reduce power consumption, as the amplifier will only be powered when actively used.
