The HMC724LC3TR-R5 is a two output, low power clock synthesizer IC, designed especially to fulfill stringent timing requirements with the clock outputs from an HCSL source. The device features a fast lock time and low power operation in an 8-lead MSOP package.
The HMC724LC3TR-R5 belongs to the clock/timing family of Clock Buffers, Drivers. It is used for low phase-noise operations to produce a low power clock outputs with low spreads of skew. The device can down spread the original PLL output frequency from 1GHz to a value as low as 25. It also serves as a source for wideband signals whose frequency can be adjusted by programming the PLL frequency divider through the control inputs.

In terms of working principle, the HMC724LC3TR-R5 consists of two main components: a phase-locked loop (PLL) and a frequency-locked loop (FLL).
