The HMC744LC3CTR is a low-skew, high-performance Clock Buffer, used to drive multiple clock signals. It is designed to optimize signal integrity and reduce system switching noise, while enabling low-skew clock distribution. This Clock Buffer consists of three OE controlled differential outputs and functions at maximum clock speeds up to 100 MHz.
The HMC744LC3CTR makes the designers task much easier by reducing the amount of PCB routing. This helps to reduce the cost of manufacturing, as it eliminates the process of manually routing the traces for clock signals. This buffer also helps to reduce the overall system power consumption, by reducing the number of trace-carrying devices connected to the board.
The HMC744LC3CTR features a low propagation delay and low-skew outputs that are capable of maintaining full-swing logic levels over a wide range of operational conditions.
The buffer achieves extremely low distortion and noise on the outputs. It incorporates two channels that are cross-coupled, allowing the buffer to adapt to pulses that are asymmetrical or have multiple pulses or discontinuous pulses. This ensures reliable operation for highly variable input pulses.
The HMC744LC3CTR employs Schmitt-trigger switching levels. It is designed to handle both single-ended and differential input signals and outputs, as well as AC couple both differential and single-ended signals.
