The electrical signals to the Wheatstone bridge are generated by the silicone element, which is deflected when the pressure is applied. This deflection is translated into electrical signals, which can be measured by electronic circuits connected to the Wheatstone bridge. The Wheatstone bridge is made up of four variable resistors (also known as “legs”) connected in a grid configuration. Since the resistance of each leg is different when a pressure is applied, electrical signals are generated. These signals are than relayed to an external circuit where they can be measured and processed.
