HT34B application field and working principle
HT34B is an electronic device consisting of four semi-conductors fully encapsulated in an epoxy-resin molded case. It is used in different types of circuits with applications from monitoring, control and protection to valve operation and motor control. HT34B is particularly suitable for DC control circuits, with a good noise immunity and is suitable for operation in very noisy environments.
HT34B is designed to deliver a specific current - typically 2mA - when the voltage across its terminals becomes greater than its breakdown voltage, usually 120V. Its like a "gate" current and is generally enough for many different types of DC control circuits.
The HT34B can be triggered with a positive or negative current, depending on its circuit configuration. When current flows from pin A to pin B, both the PN junctions will be charged to the trigger voltage and when the voltage across the device reaches its breakdown voltage, the device is said to have fired or "triggered". At this point, the current flowing through the device increases to its rapid switching current (Its) and then reduces gradually till it reaches the holding current (Ih).
HT34B is used in many electrical applications, such as DC motor control, AC switches, power supply control, power supply protection, power rectification, heater control, solenoid control, and many more. Additionally, it also offers protection to the connected device, as it will cut off power supply when the voltage exceeds its breakdown limit.
HT34B is a two-pin electronic component that uses bidirectional thyristor action for the purpose of control, protection, and switching. It is ideal for applications such as DC motor control and the rectification of AC signals. The device operates in three states: off, trigger and holding. In the off-state, both p-n junctions of the component are reverse-biased, meaning that no current flows through it. When the applied voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage, the device enters the trigger state. In this state, the component conducts current, typically up to its rapid switching current (Its). When the device is in this state, it can be triggered into the holding state, where the current is limited by the predetermined holding current (Ih). When the current is below this limit, the component remains in the conducting state.
HT34B has a long life expectancy and is a reliable component. It has good isolation characteristics, which means it prevents current leakage between the input and output. It also has a fast on-off response time, and can handle high-speed switching. This makes it an ideal choice for applications such as relay switching, motor control, rectification and AC switch control, among others.
In conclusion, HT34B is a robust, dependable component that finds widespread use in DC control circuits. It is reliable and can handle high-speed switching. Its fast on-off response time, long life expectancy, and good isolation characteristics make it suitable for a variety of applications. This makes it a popular choice for circuit designers.
