The ICL3217EIA is a low-power, highly integrated, mixed signal device containing an EIA-232 transceiver, a driver and a receiver. It has been designed to offer both low power consumption and low electromagnetic immunity (EMI) in applications such as system control, communications, and field instrumentation. This device combines a variety of features to enable an easier and simpler design with smaller footprint size than traditional discrete components.
This device features an EIA-232 transceiver, driver, and receiver that enable communication between different systems and provides a wide range of compatible interfaces, including RS-422/RS-485, & RS-232. The ICL3217EIA provides a transmitter/receiver differential output to drive an external cable, and it also offers robust EMI suppression that pairs the device’s transceiver outputs to the MAX320 connected line driver outputs. Additionally, the ICL3217EIA contains a low-noise, low-power monolithic EIA-232 receiver that supports up to 3.6V input voltage and is capable of receivers speeds up to 250Kbps.
The ICL3217EIA can be used for a variety of applications, such as data acquisition, industrial automation, system control, building automation, point-of-sale systems, and instrumentation. Its features make it an ideal solution for low-power, low-EMI designs, as well as for systems with strict EMC requirements.
