The ICL7673CPAZ is a precision micropower voltage supervisor and reset with adjustable threshold, low quiescent current and low voltage operation. This device is designed to extend battery life in battery-powered applications by accurately monitoring supply or battery voltages. The ICL7673CPAZ is offered in an 8-pin PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages and is well-suited for use in precision programmable supplies, laptop computers and other applications requiring precise system level power supply management. With the addition of the ICL7673CPAZ, designers can now achieve longer run times from their systems with improved accuracy, stability and robustness.
The ICL7673CPAZ is a PMIC - OR Controllers, Ideal Diodes device, which stands for Programmable Micro-Power IC Reset/Voltage Supervisor with Adjustable Threshold. This device allows for improved accuracy and ruggedness of precision power supply management. It features an adjustable reset threshold, which can be adjusted by using an onboard potentiometer or external voltage reference. The device also features the ability to monitor various points in the power network of a system, such as battery and system power.
In addition to its programmability, the ICL7673CPAZ offers an improved accuracy of ±1.0% and low quiescent current (less than 50µA) operation, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. It also offers a low voltage operation (down to 1.2V) and wide temperature range (-40°C to +125°C). This device is designed to be ‘fail-safe’ and requires no external components.
The ICL7673CPAZ offers an internal watchdog timer, which can be enabled to continuously monitor the status of the power system. The watchdog timer will reset the output if no activity is detected for a predetermined amount of time, providing quick reaction in order to safely shut down the system.
