The ICS853S314AGILFT is a low jitter, low power, and Galvanically Isolated Clock Buffer that offers a wide range of features for clock applications. It has a 12-bit serial data input that allows it to interface to virtually all types of digital clock sources. It is a low-noise differential output buffer designed to drive clock trees in many industrial and consumer products. It offers frequency buffering and phase spreading (phase shifting) to reduce jitter on the output clock signal.
The ICS853S314AGILFT has two differential output channels. The first channel is a single-ended low-skew output channel with integrated differential pull-ups that can be configured either as a high or low drive. This channel is designed to drive a low-skew fan-out clock tree with a minimum range of 5 feet. The second output channel is a high-skew differential output channel configured in a push-pull arrangement. This channel is designed to drive very long high-skew clock bus topologies.
The ICS853S314AGILFT can accept any clock frequency from 2 MHz to 40 MHz and can generate up to 250 MHz outputs. It is capable of handling clock jitter up to 250 ps RMS and can provide cycle-by-cycle phase jitter of only 500 fs RMS. The ICS853S314AGILFT also offers frequency multiplication, frequency division, and duty cycle adjustment features. These features can be used to reduce clock jitter, optimize traffic for bus topologies, and adjust duty cycles for more symmetrical waveforms.
The ICS853S314AGILFT is ideal for applications such as wireless bases stations, storage networks, switching systems, digital camera systems, embedded computing platforms, industrial automation systems, and other clock distribution and synchronization applications. It can be used to replace discrete signal buffer components and reduce the complexity of a circuit. The ICS853S314AGILFT is available in a 6mm x 6mm QFN package and is specified over the Industrial temperature range (-40 °C to +85 °C).
