The IDT5T9891NLI8 has a wide input range from 0.1 to 150 MHz and a very low output noise floor of -160 dBc/Hz. The device features 2 output frequencies with programmable pulse-width modulation, adjustable skew and independent power-down control. It has a maximum PLL frequency range of 1 to 100 MHz and a multiplication ratio of 64 to 65536MHz. It has a wide power supply range from 2.7V to 5.5V.
The main working principle of IDT5T9891NLI8 is based on the use of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a Phase Frequency Detector (PFD) and a charge pump. The VCO is used to generate an output signal with a frequency proportional to the control voltage applied to its frequency control input. The output signal is then sent to the charge pump which adjusts the frequency of the signal to the desired frequency by injecting current into the frequency control voltage of the VCO. This current is controlled by the PFD, which detects the difference in the phase between the input and output frequencies and adjusts the output voltage accordingly.
