The IDT74LVC245ASOG8 is an advanced 3.3 V High Performance, Low Power CMOS Logic Octal Buffer / Line Driver with 3-State Outputs. The device has a built-in protection for inputs and outputs, making it ideal for various biomedical and optoelectronic applications. The device has an input voltage of 1.6 V to 3.6 V and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

Working Principle:

The IDT74LVC245ASOG8 is an octal buffer / line driver that features 3-state outputs which provide high–impedance when enabled. The device has an output enable (OE) input which is used to place the outputs in either an active (high–impedance) or a low–impedance state. When OE is low, the outputs will be in a low–impedance state, otherwise the outputs will be in a high–impedance state. When the outputs are in a high–impedance state, the attached devices will not be exposed to any over-current which could cause damage.

The device also features input protection which will protect the circuit from any voltage surges or short-circuit conditions. The input protection circuit will activate under such conditions and will disconnect the input from the output until the conditions are cured. This feature makes the device suitable for use in a variety of applications where conditions such as these may exist.
