IGD515EI gate driver is a highly integrated power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed for Industrial and consumer applications. It is suitable for use in a variety of Power conversion applications, from a low power industrial system to high current induction cooker. It also provides an exceptional level of integration for ease of implementation and maximum performance.

The IGD515EI integrates four channels of MOSFET drivers with high current sourcing/sinking capability and four full-bridge gate drivers with 20A peak current capability. Features such as adjustable dead times, independent shutdowns, completed loop control and fault flag outputs allow for optimal control and flexibility of the system. Built with advanced chip-on-film technology, the IGD515EI is able to deliver high performance, efficient power conversion with a small footprint.

The IGD515EI’s working principle can be divided into two sections: the power section and the control section. In the power section, MOSFET switches are arranged in a bridge circuit configuration to reduce the component count and boosT efficiency. The bridge circuit is managed by control signals generated from the control section. The bridges are pulsed by the custom-programmable independent half-bridge drivers, which are enabled by the logic high/low status of the respective control signals.

The higher-level control is performed by the IGD515EI’s control section. It features a three-state intelligent gate control block which consists of a look up table, programmable dead times, pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode and level-shift mode. The control logic produces complete operational control and control timing for the drivers. Additionally, it also provides integrated thermal protection as well as fault status flag outputs.

Overall, IGD515EI is ideal for high-power applications, such as AC-DC power conversion, motor control, and switching power supplies. It offers an efficient, cost effective solution with its high level of integration, robust protection, and comprehensive support of the latest safety standards.
