The ILC7083AIM5ADJX Voltage Regulator is a high-efficiency step-down linear regulator with an adjustable output voltage and an ultra-low quiescent current. This device is designed for use in battery-powered systems, as well as low-power applications that require a minimum overall power consumption.The ILC7083AIM5ADJX is a high-efficiency, low-dropout linear regulator with an adjustable output voltage from 1.5V to 5V, and it can deliver up to 1.5A output current with a low dropout voltage of 0.22V @ 1.5A. The integrated low- power shutdown feature minimizes power consumption and helps extend system battery life.The ILC7083AIM5ADJX also includes an onboard power on reset control, pre-bias startup, and an adjustable current limit protection circuit. The pre-bias startup prepares the system before the output voltage is ramped up, and the current limit protection prevents the system from exceeding maximum current values during start up or in the event of an overload condition.In addition, the device features a thermal shutdown protection mechanism that detects and reacts to temperature extremes, protecting the device from overheating.The ILC7083AIM5ADJX utilizes the advantages of linear voltage regulation to deliver low noise, high efficiency and load regulation. Linear power management provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for powering:• High-Power, Low-Average-Power applications that require a low output voltage, such as mobile phones and handheld electronic devices • Low-Power, Low-Noise, Low-Dropout systems that require minimal power consumption, such as wearable devices and MCUs• High-Voltage, Low-Current applications, such as sensors and communication systemsThe device offers design flexibility, allowing designers to easily adjust the output voltage, current limit, and switching frequency. In addition, the ILC7083AIM5ADJX has an on-chip EMI reduction filter that limits interference from the output stages, minimizing EMI emission and minimizing the EMI stress on other components.The ILC7083AIM5ADJX also features low noise operation, making it ideal for noise-sensitive applications. The low output noise of the ILC7083AIM5ADJX allows the device to be adapted to various audio-level circuitry and low-noise, power sensitive systems.
