IQ1215S is a Digital Control Step-Down converter, it is mainly used for power supply applications and can supply various types of electronic systems with voltage regulation and dynamic control. The IQ1215S DC-DC Converter has a wide range of applications and can be used to design a power supply system for various types of electronic systems.
IQ1215S features excellent low noise output, high efficiency of more than 95%, 8V to 150V input and 0.6V to 12V output voltage range, and 8V to 150V input and 0.6V to 12V adjustable output voltage range. Its digital control allows excellent line and load regulation characteristics and dynamic response of the output voltage. IQ1215S also supports active current sharing, enabling multiple converters to be connected in parallel for a single output rail power supply.
The output current of IQ1215S can reach 4A, and its working frequency is 30K~600KHz adjustable. The operating range of IQ1215S is wide, and there are protections for input overvoltage, output overvoltage, output short circuit, over-temperature and current limiting. In addition, the external capacitor can be used to realize the soft start or soft stop function

The working principle of the IQ1215S is relatively simple. It is a closed-loop control system. The entire system consists of a power section, a control section and a compensation section. The power section is composed of a main switch, an output filter inductor, an input filter capacitor and an input diode, which makes the power supply stable and efficient. The control section is composed of an inner control circuit to modify the pulse width of the main switch so as to accurately control the output voltage. The compensation section is to provide feedback compensation control signal to the control section, which realizes the stable adjustment of the output voltage when the load changes.

When the input signal is larger than the externalized voltage, the inner control circuit will reduce the duty cycle of the main switch. When the input signal is lower than the externalized voltage, the duty cycle of the main switch will be enlarged. In this way, the output voltage could be fixed and regulated.
In the compensation section, the control signal is compared with the external setting signal, and is recorded in an internal memory. The amplifier then amplifies the error signal and sends it to the gate driving circuit. The error signal is then used to adjust the duty cycle, which helps to keep the output voltage stable.
