IR3316STRRPBF is an enhanced high-side load switch designed by International Rectifier (IR). This device is classified as a power distribution switch, load driver, and protection IC. It enables high-side load control in many applications such as automotive, industrial, and motor control.

The IR3316STRRPBF\'s features include a 10A peak current, a 2A on-off gate drive that allows a maximum duty cycle of 70%, and a low operating temperature range (-45°C to +130°C). The device features an integrated reverse-blocking FET, which offers short-circuit protection and loss of ground protection. Furthermore, the IC includes a low-on-resistance output MOSFET to reduce switching losses, as well as a very low quiescent current which enables minimum system power consumption.

IR3316STRRPBF is a power IC combining all the necessary protection, diagnostics, and other safety functions of the system in one package, operating from 8V to 28V and has an operational temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. The device includes an integrated overcurrent protection, logarithmic slew rate limiting and even functional testing. The device works on the principle of field-effect operation by controlling the voltage and current supplied to an output transistor via a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET). The logic control signal from the external source to the gate of the MOSFET is either 0V or 5V. When the voltage at the gate is low (0V), the output transistor is off. When the voltage at the gate is high (5V), the output transistor is on.
