The ISL3173EIUZ is a single-channel bidirectional low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) receiver/driver that can operate up to 1.5-GHz data rates. Its high data rate and high input impedance provide flexibility for demanding high-speed designs. This makes it an optimal fit for applications such as PCI-Express, Infiniband, and SAS-2.0 interfaces, as well as high-grade gaming consoles, laptops, and tablets.

The ISL3173EIUZ is designed for unidirectional and bi-directional communications over balanced twisted-pair cables. It offers a single transmit and receive pair interface, as well as an array of low-power differential signaling (LPD) functions for interfacing between LVDS and other LVDS sources or sinks. On the input side, the ISL3173EIUZ provides a single differential LVDS raise/fall time set to the optimal propagating delay of one bit cell (or time slot). In addition, the receiver has a wide input common-mode range, protecting the LVDS link from multiple EMI sources. On the output side, the ISL3173EIUZ can drive two sets of LVDS outputs at up to the maximum data rate of 1.5 Gb/s.
