ISL6144IR is a 6A monolithic MOSFET or controller, based on field-effect technology, used in a wide variety of applications, such as computer off-line and on-line power supplies, motor drives, power supply and motor control systems. It is also applicable to welding equipments, space applications and high-end consumer electronics.

ISL6144IR is designed for synchronous rectifiers, channels to provide low Rds(on), high speed, low on-resistance, reliability and cost-effectiveness of the application. With a low quiescent current and high efficiency, the device has been designed for easily implementing active-rectification.Low quiescent current also ensures low power consumption of the application.

The major components of an ideal diode circuit using ISL6144IR are two transistors, two diodes, one load and a voltage regulator.The output voltage is the same as the input voltage minus the forward voltage drop of the diode, while the output current is limited by the current limit of the transistor, so that the overall power rating of the circuit is limited by the power rating of the transistor, not the power limit of the diode.

The basic principle of ISL6144IR is a reverse high side low-side driver configuration, controlling the VDS of two MOSFETs. The high- and low-side drivers are combined into a single device, controlling the direction of the current, with either high-side or low-side driving. The circuit can achieve an efficiency up to 97%.

ISL6144IR also features multiple protection features, such as over-current, over-voltage and thermal protection. Additionally, it is designed to handle up to 600V, ensuring a wide range of applications.
