The ISL61852AIRZ from Intersil is an integrated hot swap controller specially designed to offer safe insertion and removal of supply voltages from a single-side hot swap board, thereby protecting sensitive systems from any potential damage due to current and voltage surges, as well as other issues. This device provides precisely controlled in-rush current limiting, fault protection, and power sequencing for select microcontrollers, FPGAs, and other circuit boards, making it ideal for a wide range of power management and hot swap applications.
The ISL61852AIRZ device includes an internal thermal overload protector, an adjustable built-in remote sense amplifier, an adjustable internal current limit, as well as integrated fault protection. The device is also loop compensated and offers excellent line and load regulation, making it ideal for systems requiring supply voltages that range from 8V to 60V. This device has a maximum load current of up to 10A and the adjustable on and off thresholds are programmable to ensure reliable and safe voltages and currents.
The ISL61852AIRZ is also equipped with an adjustable start-up delay, as well as adjustable on-delay and OFF-delay timing, which can easily be programmed to provide reliable power-up and power-down sequencing for any given application.
