Working Principle of ISL61851IIBZ

ISL61851IIBZ consists of a regulate and moniter circuit, a MOSFET driver and a Fault Flag. The Regulate and Monitor circuit includes a voltage reference, an accurate current sensing amplifier, an internal temperature comparator and an unique power sense amplifier to provide a wide range of configurability. The amount of current is monitored by the current sensing amplifier and compared against a programmable current threshold in order to detect an over-current condition. The voltage level is monitored by the power sense amplifier. When an over-current condition is detected or when the current level is above a certain threshold for a fixed duration, the internal MOSFET driver is triggered to latch-off the internal MOSFET. The Fault Flag is used to indicate a fault condition. When an over-current condition is detected, the Fault Flag will be asserted and a Fault Flag Reset signal will be generated to initiate a reset sequence when the detected fault is cleared.Furthermore, ISL61851IIBZ has a low input bias current, low adjust pin current, fast settling time and an adjustable reaction time. This device also features external control port options for enhanced circuit protection.
