Working Principle of ISL61862CCRZ

When the voltage at the VCC pin exceeds the ULVD threshold, the power mosfet is disabled and all other devices are in a low-power sleep state. In normal operation, the voltage the VMODE pin is set by resistor divider and this voltage controls the gate of the power mosfet, which is used to regulate the board rails. When the input supply voltage rises, the voltage on the VMODE pin increases, allowing the power mosfet to turn on and start regulating the board rails. When the input supply voltage falls below the under-voltage threshold, the power mosfet turns off and the system enters a low-power sleep state.

When the system is entering hot swapping state, the hot-swap gate is enabled. As the board rail voltage reaches its final steady state, the gate of the power mosfet is adjusted to maintain the desired current and voltage limit. To ensure the safe turn-on and shut-down, the hot-swap circuit has two slow start/fast stop modes and can be configured to meet the designers’ specific requirements.
