Working Principle

ISL6524ACB uses the principles of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to regulate its output voltage. The device operates by varying the duty cycle of the PWM signal applied to its internal switching control circuits. As the applied voltage increases, the duty cycle is increased while conversely, as the applied voltage decreases, the duty cycle is decreased. This provides a precise and stable output voltage despite variations in input voltage. The PWM signal is also directed to an internal voltage monitor feedback circuit which allows the device to adjust the duty cycle to maintain the desired voltage through dynamic regulation.

The ISL6524ACB also features current-mode control using a high frequency oscillator and two control loops, one affecting current and the other voltage. This helps ensure accurate voltage regulation with fast dynamic response to input voltage and load current changes. In addition, the ISL6524ACB contains a linear regulator to further improve transient response as well as provide over-temperature protection and short circuit protection. The device includes an internal soft start current limiting circuit that limits peak inrush current during startup.

The ISL6524ACB offers a high efficiency output stage with a switching frequency up to 1MHz that improves its efficiency and from the device. The device operates from a wide input voltage range from 2.5V to 10V, allowing its use a variety of power supply conditions.
