The ISL6534CV is an integrated pulse-width modulation (PWM) voltage regulator that combines both linear and switching voltage regulator capabilities in one package. It is the latest offering in Intersil’s family of high-performance, full-featured integrated voltage regulators. This device family provides users with a flexible, low-cost, high-efficiency solution for systems requiring an isolated low-voltage rail.Designed to use up to 7V, the ISL6534CV provides high-efficiency control of up to two outputs in either a buck or a boost configuration. The ISL6534CV also includes other features such as dynamic power management, current-mode control, programmable soft-start, and PowerSave mode. The ISL6534CV can be operated in either linear or PWM mode, making it an ideal solution for a variety of applications including point-of-load (POL) converters, distributed power architectures, battery-backed systems, secondary power rails, and Industrial control systems.The ISL6534CV is a highly integrated, monolithic switching regulator that combines both linear and switching regulator capabilities into one device. In linear mode, the device operates as a low drop-out (LDO) regulator, providing high-frequency power delivery with low output ripple. In PWM mode, the device operates as a buck or buck-boost regulator depending on the input voltage, and provides higher efficiency power delivery with minimal output ripple.The device’s output voltage can be configured using either the on-chip internal reference or an external reference. The on-chip reference has a precision of ± 1.5% over temperature, enabling accurate regulation even under varying conditions. The output voltage is also adjustable over a wide range via the on-chip resistance setting pins, allowing flexibility for various applications.The ISL6534CV also includes under voltage lockout (UVLO) and current limitation features that protect the device against damage caused by an overcurrent, undervoltage, or overtemperature condition. Additionally, the device has built-in soft-start and PowerSave (PS) mode features to enable better power management during application power up and shutdown.For applications that require multiple rails, the ISL6534CV can be connected in parallel with additional ISL6534CV devices to provide up to four output voltage rails in a single package, allowing a compact footprint and low cost solution.
