ISL83699IR-T is a voltage mode 4-Channel, SPST Analog Switch. It is provided with a voltage mode supply range of 2.3 to 5.5V, making it suitable for either 3V or 5V systems. It has a low on resistance of 3.3 ohms maximum at 2.5V and a typical on resistance of 0.5 ohms. It has an input signal range that is determined mainly by the supply voltage and its associated static characteristics, and can accept a maximum voltage of 7V without damage. The off leakage current of the device is typically less than 1 nA at 3V, making it ideal for low power applications. The default state of the device is OFF when power is first supplied.ISL83699IR-T is part of the voltage mode Analog Switch family from Intersil. These family of Switches are designed to be used in a variety of signal switching applications. Some typical applications include, analog bus switching, data routing, signal gating, signal attenuation, vox/vox array switching and signal/clock control.The working principle of ISL83699IR-T is based on the MOSFET switch technology. Its operation is simple and straightforward. When the switch is switched to ON, it allows the signal to pass through and when the switch is switched to OFF, it blocks the signal. When the switch is OFF, its drain-source impedance is very large and therefore, no current flows through it. This also means that the switch does not load the signal and does not significantly affect the signal characteristics.ISL83699IR-T can be used in multiplexing applications and it offers low power consumption. In multiplexing applications, the switch is used to route one signal to another. This is done by connecting one input and one output of the switch together and connecting the other input and output to the two signals to be multiplexed.
